April is just chock-full of celebrations. It’s a time for reflection and a time to honor family, faith and the planet we live on.
April 1: One holiday down, five to go. April Fool’s was the perfect way to start off the month. What says “family” like a good ol’ fashioned practical joke? Bloomer may have played a wee little hazing prank on our newest employee on his first day… Got him all set up with the latest in technology:
April 15: The Bloomer office will close at 12pm in observance of Good Friday. Employees will head home to spend time with family and to attend services to commemorate the day. Although the Bloomer office will be closed, you can always call 715-568-4830 and our after-hours team will be happy to assist you.
April 17: Whether it’s bunnies and easter egg hunts or church with family and friends, Easter is a special day. Did you know:
- About 50% of Americans report that they attend an Easter service.
- 87% of parents will make their kids an Easter basket. 81% of parents then take what we like to call a “candy tax”, or just “stealing” in layman’s terms.
- The largest Easter egg ever made was in 2011. It was a giant, measuring in at 34 feet high and 16,000 pounds.
- The world’s most expensive chocolate Easter bunny is…wait for it… $49,000. That’s a lot of zeros.
April 22: “It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood…” As we transition from winter to spring, Earth Day serves as a good reminder of the stewardship we owe our planet. We think you’ll agree with us when we say that Bloomer is a beautiful place to live, and we have a responsibility to preserve that beauty. Check out the Earth Day organization’s website for recommendations on investing back into our planet.
April 25: “Ring! Ring!” It’s National Telephone Day. You might have guessed that Bloomer Broadband got its start in telephony, but did you know that it was all the way back in 1901? We were some of the first to serve the Bloomer area! Here’s a fun test that will make you feel a little old: ask a teenager in your life to pretend they’re talking on the phone. Chances are, it looks a little different than someone born in or before the 90’s. Check out this video and do the test at home!
April 29: And to end the month, we have Arbor Day. Get outside in your community and plant your favorite Wisconsin tree a little tree-twin! 2022 marks the 150th celebration of Arbor Day—check out this website to find celebrations taking place near you!
April is full of holidays that bring people together. Bloomer Broadband is proud to be a part of this community, serving it and living alongside of it. We’re here for you at any time, and we’re 95% sure we won’t prank you.
