The ground has (finally) thawed and the weather is getting warmer, so get out and enjoy these local events.

Thursday, June 2 is Bloomer’s Annual Community Picnic from 3:30 to 6:30 pm at the Bloomer Fairgrounds. Enjoy a delicious meal for only $6! You can eat-in or get your meal “to go.” Your meal ticket includes a quarter of chicken or footlong hot dog, potato salad, baked beans, cole slaw, bread and ice cream. Tickets must be purchased ahead of time at the Bloomer Chamber office, or by calling 715-568-3339. The picnic will also have kids’ games, face painting and a bounce house. Raffle tickets are available for $1 each or eight for $5. You could win lots of goodies donated by your local Chamber members. For example, Bloomer Broadband has donated a “Movie Night” basket filled with everything you need for a night of family fun.

The same weekend as the picnic is the City Wide Thrift Sale on Saturday, June 4 from 8 a.m. to noon. Take a stroll along Main Street to see what deals Bloomer local businesses have to offer. If you are a business wanting to take part in this always-fun, successful event, the Chamber of Commerce can help advertise your sale, plus include your business on the city-wide map. Many area residents will also be hosting thrift sales until 4:00 pm that day and will be included on the city-wide map. Check out this link for more details and a participation form.

Later in June will be the Craft and Food Fest on Main Street. The event will take place on Saturday, June 18 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm and will feature crafters, food trucks, and live music. The Bloomer Chamber will also be hosting a Job Fair and Showcase. They will be located in Shadick’s parking lot with other non-profit organizations. Come check out the job opportunities and see what your local non-profits are up to.

Looking for something more? Well, the Bloomer Area Aquatic Center is hosting a Fundraising Thrift Sale every Thursday from 2:00 to 6:00 pm, and Fridays from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. The thrifting will take place at the Bloomer Community Fairgrounds 4-H building. If you’d like to donate items, call 715-568-3483 or drop your items off at the Fairgrounds.

You can check out the Bloomer Chamber of Commerce’s site for more summer events. See you around town!
