November 17 marks Electronic Greeting Card Day. This “holiday” (also celebrated on November 29 as some websites show) has been around since the early 1990s. A Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) student is said to have created the first electronic greeting card site in 1994 called The Electronic Postcard.
Electronic Greeting Card Day was created to recognize how technology has impacted the way we communicate—and how far we’ve come from paper and pen greetings. The day encourages us to send an eCard to friends and family to mark a special event or just say, “Hello!”
You can send an eCard quickly and easily. You don’t need a physical address of the person you want to send the card to, and you don’t need to find a stamp or go to the post office. Electronic greeting cards are fun, “forever,” and free! To share some fun this Thanksgiving, Bloomer Broadband has created three eCards you can download and send.
Just choose your favorite (or favorites) and click the “Download” button. Then take the downloaded image and attach it to your email, text, or social media platform.
Get in on the fun this November 17 and send an eCard to your friends and family. We’re sure they will appreciate it.
