Bloomer Broadband Receives ReConnect Funds

We have great news for underserved areas in our region! We’ve recently been awarded over $9.2 million in combined grant and loan funding though the US Department of Agriculture’s Rural Utilities Services ReConnect Program. These funds will be used to bring much-needed fiber internet services to 1,278 people, 32 businesses, and 73 farms in Dunn and Chippewa counties.

“This funding is not just an investment in technology; it’s an investment in the future of our communities. By bringing high-speed broadband to more homes, farms, and businesses, we are opening up new opportunities for education, healthcare, and economic growth. We are proud to be providing these services and look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on our region,”  said Kent Klima General Manager of Bloomer Broadband.

We are preparing for the construction phase of the project now with the first locations scheduled to be online in 2026. This represents a significant improvement to our critical communications infrastructure. We’re excited to be a part of it!

If you reside in Dunn or Chippewa counties, please call us to determine if your property will be part of the network. Now is the time to express your interest!
