Bloomer Broadband is proud to offer scholarships to area students from Elk Mound, Colfax, Chippewa Falls, McDonell Catholic and Bloomer high schools. For the second year in a row, the company provided three $500 and three $1000 scholarships. The company has offered this scholarship opportunity for more than 16 years and has provided close to $40,000 to high school seniors within the company’s service area.

Bloomer Broadband received several qualified applicants this year. The recipients were chosen based on their academic, extra-curricular and work experience, as well as a formal interview. All the applicants proved to be dedicated, hardworking and caring individuals which made choosing the recipients difficult. Bloomer Broadband is pleased to announce the 2024 scholarship recipients:

Addison Young is pursuing a degree in Environmental or Coastal Engineering at the University of North Carolina – Wilmington. She is the daughter of Alison and David Young.

Brennan Anderson is pursuing a degree in Business Management and Administration at the University of Wisconsin – Stout. He is the son of William Anderson and Carrie Nehring.

Chloe Grant is pursuing a Business Finance and Accounting degree at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. She is the daughter Derek and Jessica Grant.

Hailey Tanner is majoring in Secondary Education/English at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls. She is the daughter of Stacy and Bert Rogge.

Kayden McElroy-Lynch is pursuing a degree in Elementary Education at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. She is the daughter of Samuel McElroy.

Mazalyn Day is pursuing an Accounting or Business Finance degree at University of Minnesota – Duluth. She is the daughter of Paula and Jamison Day.

The company also partnered with NTCA – The Rural Broadband Association to award a $2500 scholarship to Lauren Allison from New Auburn High School. (Bloomer Broadband sponsored and contributed $500 to the $2500 scholarship.) Lauren was one of 55 recipients chosen out of 1,300 nationwide applicants. Her award marks Bloomer Broadband’s first New Auburn Trojan scholarship recipient! Ms. Allison is the daughter of Martin and Tami Allison and will attend the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire this fall.

Kent Klima, Bloomer Broadband’s vice president and general manager said, “We are proud to offer this scholarship to area students and contribute to NTCA’s Foundation for Rural Services scholarship. And we are honored to be part of a community with so many fine young people.”
